Your greens

Most of what we discover when we scroll is digital fast food. We know it's an unsustainable diet that is eroding our attention (and perhaps our soul).

A friend told me, late one winter night, that reading this newsletter is "kind of like eating clean food." She knew she needed to be in the right headspace to consume it. But then when she did, she knew it was good for her.

Personal essays, the kind I share write for the Mettā View, have an arc to them. They are meant to be more than a story, just as they are meant to bring you to a reflection.

Consider, as I am learning to do, putting the same amount of care in what you feed your mind as what you do to nourish and look after your body. So I'm adopting the term. Officially.

This newsletter is your greens 🥬

You won't always be in the mood. You might need to save it for later. But when you sit down with it, I hope you'll feel better after.

PS — Signing up means you're hearing from me, Anne. Essays, news and updates, the podcasts, and the events and workshops I have coming up.
